Ingredients

  • 1 (7oz) can tuna in water (drained)
  • 1 heaping cup shredded cheddar
  • 1 large egg
  • Optional seasoning (NO salt needed)

Ingredients to make Air Fryer Tuna Melts (A naturally low carb and keto friendly recipe!)

Step 1 Mix all of the ingredients together until well combined. You can optionally add in some seasoning such as black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne. I’d avoid salt because the tuna is already loaded with it. 

Step 2 Form the tuna mixture into small, tightly packed patties and place them onto the bottom of your air fryer. 

Step 3Air fry at 390°F for 12-16 minutes, flipping them over half way through. After making these a few times, I’ve discovered that they are more done than they look! They continue to crisp up as they cool down.

Ingredients

  • 1 (7oz) can tuna packed in water (well drained)
  • 1 heaping cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • optional seasoning (but NO salt needed)

Instructions

  • In a medium size bowl, mix together the drained tuna, cheese and egg until well combined. You can optionally add in some seasoning such as black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne. I’d avoid salt because the tuna is already loaded with it. 
  • Form the tuna mixture into small, tightly packed patties and place them onto the bottom of your air fryer. I made mine about 2 inches wide.
  • Air fry at 390°F for 12-16 minutes, flipping them over half way through. After making these a few times, I’ve discovered that they are more done than they look! They continue to crisp up as they cool down. 
  • Allow them to cool for a few minutes and then enjoy alone or with your favorite dipping sauce. I think they're yummy with Ranch dressing!
