If you’re looking for quick and easy comfort food recipes, these cheese stuffed bread balls are filled with gooey mozzarella and coated with a garlic butter mixture that is absolutely delicious. They’re made with just a handful of simple and cheap ingredients, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they aren’t THE BEST little snack or appetizer on the planet.
Thanks to Pillsbury Biscuits, that’s all you have to do is seal the dough around the cheese, bake, and then brush with seasoned and melted butter. I like to serve them with a little pizza sauce, but they’re incredible eaten alone as well. Either way, your kids and family will go wild for these cheese stuffed garlic butter biscuits!
These cheesy bombs are definitely crowd pleasing when you’re having family over, or just as a Sunday snack for the kids and hubby. They can also be served along side a salad, soup or hearty meal. They’re basically like eating pizza, especially if you serve them with a little tomato or marinara sauce on the side.
Easy Garlic Butter Cheese Bombs Recipe (Made With Pillsbury Biscuit Dough)
- 1 refrigerated package of 8 Buttermilk Biscuits
- 4 ounces of mozzarella
- 1/2 stick of butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- pinch of salt
Step 1Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place the biscuits onto your baking sheet and flatten them out a bit with the palm of your hand. Cut the cheese into 8 equal size pieces and place one on top of each biscuit.
Step 2Now, here’s the fun part! Wrap the dough around the cheese and use your fingers to create a seal. You really want to spend a little time squeezing and pinching the dough together to create a tight seal so that the cheese doesn’t try to escape while they are baking.
Step 3Place them back down onto your baking sheet with the seal side down and bake for about 12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. The longer the better; you want the cheese to thoroughly melt so that it’s warm and gooey.
Step 4While the biscuits are baking, melt the butter in the microwave and then stir in the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Generously brush each cheese ball as soon as they get out of the oven.
Step 5Serve alone or with a pizza dipping sauce! You can also sprinkle on a little parsley and grated parmesan if you’d like.
Pillsbury Biscuit Garlic Butter Cheese Bombs (Quick & Easy!)
Ingredients
- 1 (16oz) container of refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese (soft, shredded or diced string cheese)
- 4 tbsp melted butter (half a stick)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate the biscuits and top each one evenly with cheese. I used 4 ounces of soft mozzarella cut into 8 cubes. You can also use shredded mozzarella, string cheese or even cheddar if you'd like.
- Wrap the dough around the cheese and make a seal using your fingers to press and pinch the dough together. You really want to make sure you create a tight seal so that the cheese doesn't try to escape while baking.
- Place each cheese stuffed dough ball seal side down onto your baking sheet; bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown. The longer you can bake them, the better. You want the cheese to melt all the way through.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in the microwave and then stir in the garlic powder, Italian seasoning and salt.
- As soon as the biscuits emerge from the oven, generously brush each one with the butter mixture.
- These biscuits are best served fresh and warm. Enjoy!
