If you are following a low carb or ketogenic lifestyle, then you probably miss the crispy texture of chips. You know, like Doritos, Cheetos and Fritos! Or anything crispy for that matter. Well, fret NO MORE.
It’s simple. Baking cheese makes it crispy, and it takes less than 10 minutes from start to finish before you’re scarfing them down. Top the cheese with pepperoni or salami for added flavor.
This easy 2 Ingredient keto snack will eliminate your carb loaded chip cravings.
How To Make Keto Cheese Crisps In Your Oven
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Cut your pepperoni slices in half (this plate depicts a whole lot more pepperoni than the recipe calls for because I was making 2 batches).
Microwave for 30 seconds, and then use a few paper towels to blot off the excess grease. This process helps keep the baked chips as crispy as possible.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper (not wax paper or the cheese will stick) and then make cheese piles all over. Use your fingers to flatten the piles into a consistent thickness.
Top each one with a pepperoni halve.
Bake for 4-7 minutes, but watch carefully! Remove them from the oven when they are browned and crispy to your liking. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before digging in. The longer they sit, the crispier they get.
Double the recipe if you plan on sharing. My husband swiped most of them before I even had a chance! My kids really enjoy these, too. You definitely don’t have to be on a low carb diet to appreciate this recipe.
Keto Parmesan Pizza Crisps (2 Ingredients)
Ingredients
- 12 pieces thin sliced pepperoni or salami
- shredded parmesan cheese (about 2/3 cup)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cut the pepperoni slices in half and place them on a microwave safe plate.
- Microwave the pepperoni halves for about 30 seconds, and then use a few paper towels to blot off the excess grease.
- Cover a large cookie sheet with parchment paper, and lay down small piles of parmesan cheese on top. Flatten each pile to make a consistent thickness (I made 20 piles but probably could have fit 24 or more as they don't spread while baking).
- Top each flattened pile with one of your pepperoni pieces.
- Place in the oven for 4-7 minutes, but watch carefully! Every oven varies, so around the 3 minute mark, keep an eye on the oven so that you can pull them out when they are perfectly crispy but not burnt.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Enjoy!
